Open the safe’s door, remove the current codes, press the PROG or P key, and enter the factory code to reset the combination on a Sentry safe. Finally, enter the new user combination, which is a new five-digit number based on personal desire.
In order to avoid being locked out, it is wise to always reset the combination on a Sentry safe with the door open. Enter the five-digit manufacturer code found in the owner’s manual to unlock the Sentry safe door. There is no way to change this factory code.
Press the P button on newer safe models to remove the current codes. Type the factory code next, then after that, enter “00000” into the safe. Press the PROG button and enter the factory code twice on earlier Sentry safe models.
Press the PROG or P key to remove any remaining codes, then key in the factory code once more. Enter the new user code, a new five-digit number, within the next five seconds. Retype the user code, then shut the safe’s door to see whether it still works. Users can reset their user code as often as they’d like, and it serves as the main code for opening the safe.
