How Many Feet Is a Yard?

A yard is a unit of length that is equal to three feet. This is the same as 36 inches or 92 centimetres. A ruler or a yardstick is the best way to measure a yard.

Yards are used to measure football fields, and 100 yards is the length of a field. Fabric, gravel, and rope are just some of the things that are sold by the yard. If you don’t have a ruler, a good way to figure out how long a yard is without a ruler is to remember that the distance from the tip of the nose to the fingers on an outstretched hand is almost a yard.
