How Much Spaghetti Sauce Do You Need Per Person?

Traditional American spaghetti recipes ask for around 1/2 cup of sauce placed in the centre of the spaghetti, while authentic Italian pasta dishes call for little more than a quarter cup of red spaghetti sauce each serving. Therefore, each serving requires between 2 and 4 ounces of spaghetti sauce.

Prepare 2 ounces or more of dried pasta per person. Take that into consideration while making the sauce and pasta if one individual would probably consume many amounts. Less pasta is needed per person when the sauce is thicker and heartier. Thicker sauces coat pasta more easily than chunkier sauces, therefore more pasta is needed while using less sauce.
