Is a dolphin a meat eater, a plant eater, or both?

The dolphins eat meat. They eat many kinds of fish, but their favourite is the flying fish. Dolphins sometimes have to jump out of the water to catch these flying fish.

Dolphins are aquatic mammals. There are more than 50 kinds of dolphins, and 12 of them live in fresh water. The most well-known species are the common dolphin and the bottle-nosed dolphin.

They look like fish and have no hair on their bodies. They constantly shed their smooth skin to avoid getting parasites on it. They are protected from the cold by blubber, and they breathe through a blow hole on their backs. Their tail fins help them move through the water, and their front and back fins help them steer.
