Mountain Dew has used a variety of slogans to promote itself.

“Yahoo Mountain Dew…It’ll tickle your innards” in 1965, “Get that barefoot feelin’ drinkin’ Mountain Dew” in 1969, and “Dew it country cool” in 1986 are some of the slogans that Mountain Dew has used in its advertising. As of August 2014, new slogans for Mountain Dew’s Kickstart flavours include “Do the Dew” and “Kickstart your night.”

Mountain Dew’s popularity soared after it was first presented to the public in 1965, with the phrase “Yahoo Mountain Dew…

It’ll make your insides tingle.” The phrase was abbreviated to “Yahoo Mountain Dew” the following year, and it remained that way for the next seven years. “Put a little yahoo in your life” was the third Mountain Dew slogan, which debuted in 1973 and was immediately replaced by “Hello, sunshine, hello Mountain Dew” in 1974. In 1979, the phrase “Reach for the sun, reach for Mountain Dew” continued the idea of sunshine. “Give me a Dew” and “Dew it to it!” were phrases popular in the 1980s.

The best Mountain Dew slogan, according to Fast Company, is “Do the Dew,” which originally appeared in 1993. Commercials depicted the soft drink as being associated with extreme activities. Mountain Dew has sponsored the X Games, an extreme sports competition, and utilised its slogan to link the soft drink to youthful outdoor activities and dangerous acts.
