Nine siblings, including half-siblings, make up Serena Williams’ family. Since she and her sister, Venus Williams, have the same mother and father, they are each other’s only other blood relative.
The only offspring of Richard Williams and Oracene Price, who wed in 1979, are tennis players Serena and Venus Williams. Serena was born in 1981, and Venus was born in 1980. From her initial union with Yusef Rasheed, Oracene Price had three daughters. Richard Williams’ marriage to Betty Johnson produced three sons and two daughters. This results in a total of eight half-siblings for Serena and Venus.
Yetunde Price, the eldest child of Oracene, was slain in 2003. Yetunde had been Venus and Serena’s personal helper until she passed away. The Williams sisters’ tennis-playing daughters received coaching from both of their parents.
