Few animals eat hawks, with the exception of red foxes, great-horned owls, raccoons, larger hawks, and eagles. Because they are at the top of the food chain, hawks have few natural predators.
Snakes that can climb up trees can harm hawk eggs, although predators don’t always prefer hawk eggs over the eggs of other birds.
Hawks tend to hunt rodents and small animals as their own prey, though which creatures they pursue depends on the species of hawk and what is accessible in the hawk’s present area.
