Red, yellow, blue, brown, orange, green, violet, black, carnation pink, yellow orange, blue green, red violet, red orange, yellow green, blue violet, white, violet red, dandelion, cerulean, apricot, scarlet, green yellow, indigo, and grey are the colours in a box of 24 Crayola crayons. In 1903, Crayola crayons were originally sold in an eight-color box.
In 1949, Crayola introduced 40 new crayon colours, followed by 16 in 1958, eight in 1972, sixteen in 1990, sixteen in 1993, twenty-four in 1998, and four in 2003. In 1993, the business phased out eight hues, followed by four more in 2003. It has renamed a number of hues and changed the contents of its crayon boxes several times.
Crayola offers a number of box sizes, the most frequent of which contain eight, sixteen, twenty-four, forty-eight, forty-six, sixty-four, sixty-six, sixty-six, sixty-six, sixty-six, sixty-six, sixty-six, sixty-six, sixty-six The company has sold boxes containing up to 200 crayons.
