What European country has a boot-shaped shape?

Italy, with its boot-shaped shape, is one of the most easily recognised European countries on the world map. The peninsula of Italy is bordered by water on three sides. The Adriatic Sea borders the country on the east, the Mediterranean Sea on the south, and the Tyrrhenian Sea on the west.

Four nations surround Italy on its northern border: France, Austria, Switzerland, and Slovenia. Rome, sometimes known as the Eternal City, is the capital of Italy. It has a population of almost 2.5 million people. More than 61 million people live in the country as a whole. Tuscany and Veneto are just two of the 20 areas that make up the population.
