What Is a Good Church Anniversary Theme?

The Official King James Bible Online suggests that “Proclaiming the complete will of God” from Acts 20:27 and “Taking refuge in the Lord” from Psalm 118:8 as appropriate subjects for a church’s anniversary celebration. Hebrews 6:19’s statement that “Hope is our anchor” is another strong contender.

Acts 17:28’s words, “In Him, we live and move and have our being,” or Hebrews 10:23’s “Holding unswervingly to the hope we profess,” could likewise serve as the foundation for a church’s celebrations.

Some other verses to consider include “walking by faith, not by sight” from II Corinthians 5:7, “the light of the world” from Matthew 5:14, and “His faithfulness endures to all generations” from Psalm 100:5.
