What Is a Healthy Weight for a 5-Foot 2-Inch Female?

A healthy weight for a person who is five feet, two inches tall is between 104 and 131 pounds, according to the Body Mass Index chart given by Rush University Medical Center. Because the percentages of bone, muscle, and fat vary by body type, BMI charts are not an exact science.

The BMI scale classifies individuals underweight who are under 104 pounds, overweight who are between 136 and 158 pounds, and obese who are beyond 164 pounds. According to the American Cancer Society, a healthy BMI ranges from 18.5 to 24.9. BMI is calculated as follows: BMI = (weight in pounds x 703) (height in inches x height in inches).
