What is a Texas Class C driver’s licence?

In Texas, a person with a class C driver’s licence can drive vehicles with a GVWR of less than 26,001 pounds that are pulling a farm trailer with a GVWR of 20,000 pounds or less. Also, with a class C driver’s licence, you can drive a vehicle that seats 23 people or less.

Unless you are exempt, you need a Class C CDL to drive a vehicle that can hold 16 to 23 people. With a class C driver’s licence in Texas, a person can drive any car that isn’t listed under Class A or Class B. Class C licences are given to people who are exempt from getting a commercial driver’s licence or who are not required to get one.
