Press the Clear/Off button on a Frigidaire oven door until the lock feature disengages, allowing the door to be opened. Press the same button to re-engage the lock.
Check the display panel for the words “off” and “lock” before gently pulling on the door of the Frigidaire oven. If the door is not locked, follow the same steps to lock it. Hold down the Clear/Off button on the oven until the word “off” appears on the display and the appliance beeps.
The lock may take up to 15 seconds to disengage, but after the word “Lock” has vanished from the screen, the door can be unlocked. The lock feature turns off the control panel as well as locking the oven door, preventing youngsters from messing with the appliance and perhaps burning themselves or triggering an unintentional fire.
If this approach does not work, try turning off the oven’s circuit breaker, unplugging the device, resetting the breaker, and plugging the oven back in. Another approach is to use the oven’s self-clean feature for a few minutes and then cancel it before attempting to open the door. If none of these solutions work, the Frigidaire oven may have a door latch issue. For repair assistance, contact the manufacturer.
