What Jeans Size Is 29?

Depending on the maker, a pair of jeans labelled size 29 corresponds to a US size 8 or 10. The 29 suggests a waist size of 29 inches, but even this number isn’t always accurate.

Manufacturers’ sizing standards differ greatly, and a size 6 from one brand may fit similarly to a size 10 from another. Furthermore, some firms use “vanity sizing,” in which smaller sizes are given greater dimensions to trick customers into thinking they can wear smaller sizes than they actually can.

Trying on jeans before buying them is the best approach to assure a decent fit; if buying online, use a size guide to figure out what size you need based on your waist size and inseam length.
