What Times Are Classified As Evening?

The hours from just before sunset to just before dusk or bedtime, or about from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., are commonly referred to as the evening. The term “evening” is typically used to refer to an ambiguous time that falls somewhere between the afternoon and night.

The term “evening” refers to a longer period of the day in the Midlands of England and the southern region of the United States. In these regions of the world, “evening” begins about twelve o’clock and ends soon after the sun sets.
