What was the name of Tintin’s dog?

Tintin is joined in his escapades by his dog Snowy, who is the titular character of a comic book by Belgian artist Herge. Snowy is known as Milou in the original series, following a nickname the artist had for his first love.

Snowy is a white fox terrier, and Herge has indicated that he chose this breed since it was fashionable at the time of the comic’s creation. The artist also received inspiration in a cafe he frequented, where the proprietor was a proud owner of a fox terrier.

Snowy and Tintin can talk immediately at first in the series. Other prominent characters are introduced throughout time, and the terrier’s speaking role is replaced with a non-verbal humorous one.
