Which American presidents have tattoos?

Theodore Roosevelt, Franklin D. Roosevelt, James K. Polk, Andrew Jackson, and Dwight D. Eisenhower are all said to have tattoos. Theodore Roosevelt was the only president who had a tattoo on his body that was confirmed.

On his chest, Theodore Roosevelt had his family crest tattooed. Other reported tattooed presidents include Andrew Jackson, who has a tomahawk on his inner thigh, James K. Polk, who has Chinese letters that translate to “eager,” and Franklin D. Roosevelt, who has a family crest on his chest.

Because tattoos are still frowned upon by many people, most politicians acquire tattoos on easily concealable places of the body, such as their arms, chests, and backs. This has made determining which presidents had tattoos challenging.
