Who Is PV Holding Corporation?

The renowned car rental company Avis Budget Group is owned by PV Holding Corporation. Its global headquarters are situated at 6 Sylvan Way in Parsippany, New Jersey. The company also runs the car-sharing network Zipcar.

Warren Avis established the business in 1946, and it swiftly expanded thanks to its at the time novel business concept of automobile rental from airport facilities. It grew so quickly that it was the second-largest car rental firm in the US by 1953. Later, the business established branches in other nations.

It established operations in Mexico and Canada, two nearby countries, by 1956. The corporation first used the catchphrase “We try harder” in 1963 while Robert Townsend was president; in 2012, the phrase was modified to “It’s your place.”

The business unveiled Wizard, its in-house reservation system, in 1973. The business, its affiliates, and franchisees are present in more than 5,000 sites worldwide.

Morris Mirkin, on the other hand, launched Budget in 1958. In keeping with its moniker, it employed a low-cost business strategy and undercut its rivals. The business started its first public offering in 1987.

It was purchased and sold by a series of businesses before, in 2006, joining the same group as Avis. More than 800 locations across the country are used by the corporation and its licensees to conduct business.
