Who Played What Roles in the Film “The Temptations”?

Charles Malik Whitfield played Otis Williams in the 1998 broadcast motion picture “The Temptations,” while D.B. Woodside played Melvin Franklin and Terron Brooks played Eddie Kendricks. Christian Payton as Paul Williams, Obba Babatunde as Berry Gordy, Erik Michael Tristan as Smokey Robinson, and Jenifer Lewis as Mama Rose were other cast members.

Otis Williams, the final surviving original member, tells the tale of the 1960s Motown group The Temptations in the film. The documentary starts in the 1960s with the five-man group’s ascent to stardom and continues into the 1990s with Williams’ other bandmates’ passings.

The 1999 Image Award for Outstanding Television Movie or Mini-Series went to the film itself. Additionally, the film was nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Mini-Series or Motion Picture Made for TV.

The film, which was directed by Allan Arkush, debuted on November 1, 1998. It was made by De Passe Entertainment and Hallmark Entertainment.
