Why Divorced John Hagee?

In a 1975 letter to his church, John Hagee admitted that he had engaged in immoral behaviour. He then filed for divorce from his wife, Martha Downing. Unknown precise immorality exists. On April 12, 1976, he wed Diana Castro, a member of his church. Allegations that he had an affair during his marriage surfaced after his divorce and immediate remarriage.

In 1960, Hagee wed Downing, and the two became parents of two kids. Hagee resigned as the pastor of Trinity Church in San Antonio as a result of backlash over his divorce.

Matthew, Christina, and Sandy are the names of Hagee’s three children with Castro. Hagee is a musician, and he performed as The Hagees with his children from his marriage to Castro.

The Church at Castle Hills was the name of the new church Hagee founded on May 11th, 1975. Despite having only 25 members at first, it quickly outgrew its original space, necessitating two expansions. A sanctuary with 1,600 seats was in the first, and one with 5,000 seats was in the second. Cornerstone Church was Hagee’s moniker for the second sanctuary. Later, Matthew, his son, succeeded him as the church’s executive pastor.

Hagee has authored books and preached on several Christian television networks. He founded a number of religious institutions as well.
