Why do some people think Judy Crowell left QVC?

Judy Crowell is said to have left QVC in 2003 because she got married to Paul Deasy, a co-worker she had worked with for six years. Together, they got jobs as hosts at HSN, the Home Shopping Network, and moved to St. Petersburg, Florida, so they could broadcast from their studios there.

Before she met Paul Deasy, Judy Crowell was married to Jeffrey Hewson, who used to work with her. In April 1992, the two QCV hosts got married. Three months later, Hewson asked for a divorce and quit QCV. “It’s Better to Laugh…” by Kathy Levine says that Hewson asked for a divorce right before Judy Crowell went on the air.

Crowell called Kathy and told her not to cry and to keep hosting the show in a professional way. Hewson later told the National Enquirer that he quit QCV because of his ex-wife Judy Crowell’s jealousy.

He also said that Crowell started spreading nasty rumours about him right after they broke up, saying that he was gay and had a big drinking problem. Judy Crowell has never said anything about what her ex-husband has said about her.

Judy Crowell and Paul Deasy decided to leave HSN at the same time. Crowell left in April 2008, and Deasy left in December 2007. As of 2015, the couple works for ShopNBC, which is another home shopping network.

Judy Crowell was born in Tokyo, Japan, on April 1. Crowell grew up in four different countries and 12 different states because her father was in the military. Before she graduated from an international high school in Belgium, she went to high school in Virginia and Germany.

She went to Florida State University and got a Bachelor of Science in communications. Judy worked in electronic journalism before she started doing shopping shows on TV.
